In frightful times (war, natural disasters etc.) normally we mobilize our survival mechanisms and deal with the difficult situation although we fear that bad things might happen. In peaceful times however when there is nothing serious to feel anxious for we can start to have weird fears which often don’t make sense. The fear that we might have a serious illness or be terminally ill, is one of these. Regrettably our body immediately jumps into the game and produces symptoms that help fuel our anxiety. In my experience this problem is very common and can make peoples lives miserable for years or even for a lifetime. Thou particularly complex, this syndrome has its own mechanism that can be decoded and symptoms relieved.
